Valencia itself, capital of the whole region, is a thriving, modern
city, but with a historic centre which needs plenty of time to explore:
Fine buildings such as the Cathedral, the Miguelete, Serranos and
Quart towers, the ancient Silk Exchange, and the beautiful palace
of the Marquis of Dos Aguas. Valencia boasts several Art and Cultural
Galleries, as well as Art and Science Museums. There are numerous
public gardens, and the old course of the river Turia has been converted
into a park 10 km. long.
The climate, the cuisine, the Mediterranean and beaches, plus many
sporting and other entertainments, all combine to make Valencia
a very attractive and lively city.
